Find Books in the RAS Library

The Richmond Astronomical Society Library has books and other items that can be lent to members of the Society. This form will help in finding material in the Library. The form is in the form of a fill-in-the-blanks search engine. The books are recorded in records whose values are Author1, Author2, Title, Subject, and Date. All of these fields are searchable.

For example, to find all books about Mars, click and enter in the blanks to make it say "Find all books and other items whose Title contains Mars and whose date is Date does not matter the year ___", and then click "Find". You could have also selected Subject instead of Title. If you want to find all books written before 1900, make it say "Find all books and other items whose Does Not Matter contains _____ and whose date is Before the year 1900". Click on "Clear" to clear entries and start over again.

"Does not matter" will cause the engine to ignore either the fields or the date, whichever is the case. Entering "does not matter" in both places will yield a list of ALL items in the Library.

If you select Author, both first authors and second authors are searched and listed. Check or uncheck boxes to control which fields you want loaded. Have fun searching!
