Bryan Park Skywatch

Aug 24th, 2009 | By | Category: Events

This Wednesday, August 26, John Raymond will be hosting a skywatch for Bryan Park on the park’s soccer field.  Viewing starts at 8:00 PM.  If you can bring a telescope, please do.  It should be a lot of fun.  All are welcome.  The rain/cloud date for the event is August 31.

In September we have several other events (see the calendar for more details):

September 8 – Next RAS meeting
September 12 – Virginia Association of Astronomical Societies
September 18 – Science Museum skywatch
September 19 – RAS mini-star party at the Heart of Virginia Scout Reservation in Goochland
September 24 – Next Bryan Park skywatch
September 29 – Masonic Home skywatch
September 30 – Meadow Glen skywatch

  1. Dear Astronomer,

I live in Manila, Philippines, and I’m visiting my mom in Midlothian, VA. I just bought a Celestron Nextstar 102LST and I want to confirm it works before I leave America on September 24.

Can you please tell me where I can find light-free viewing areas that your association endorses and any requirements I will need to follow to use them?

Your timely response will be greatly appreciated.
