Observations by Richmond Astronomical Society Members

Every once in a while someone from the society will observe something in the sky but could not take a picture of it; for example, it may have occurred too quickly.

On 2008 January 18, Jim Blowers and other members saw a brilliant halo around the moon at Skywatch. Jim took pictures of it with a Canon A510 camera.

On 1999 January 30 Jim Blowers and other members saw a brilliant halo around the moon; this is described more fully on Jim's home page. It is interesting to note that these two events took place almost nine years apart.

The Richastro Yahoogroup has many photos of pictures taken by Richmond Astronomical Society for the past few years.
