The stars were aligned for us this year-we had a great venue at Dorey Park, and beautiful weather. We had tables set up inside the rec center: a meteorite display; a telescope display; astrophotography; and a kids coloring table. And lots of door prizes: binoculars; astronomy books; a restaurant gift certificate; and a 2026 astronomy calendar.
We also had water rocket launching in the field next to the rec center. And solar obsering in front of the rec center.

Our two guest speakers, Kim Kenny, and Laura Greenleaf, gave excellent presentations on The Science and Beauty of Native American Astronomy and Lighting Matters: An Introduction to Light Pollution and Night Sky/Nightscape Conservation, respectively.

Evening observing was in the rocket field next to the rec center, but next year we’ve got to find a way to turn off those lights. We did have about 30 people show up for the telescope viewing that night, though.
