Would you like to take your own picture of the Moon? Come to one of the SMV skywatches, and if the Moon is up, you’ll likely get one. This picture shows a visitor doing that very thing-she has her phone attached to the eyepiece of the telescope, and she’s using the keypad of the telescope to move the telescope around herself to get another view.
All you have to do is ask one of the RAS volunteers to direct you to the telescope where we’re taking pictures-more than likely, mine (Terry Barker). The club has the gizmo that lets you affix a phone to an eyepiece, but I carry it around with me. I’m at most skywatches, so I’ll probably be there.
