Get ready! A total lunar eclipse is happening on March 13-14. We’ll see a lunar eclipse late on March 13, stretching into the wee hours of March 14. It starts just before midnight on the 13th, and the full eclipse (totality) kicks in a couple of hours later at 2:26 AM on the 14th. The timing isn’t the best, but it’s a total eclipse, so we should get to see the Moon turn that cool red color. That’s from sunlight being scattered by Earth’s atmosphere. When you see that red, you’re seeing the light from all the sunsets on Earth! Plus, you can even see Earth’s curve as its shadow moves across the Moon. Check out the link below for a graphic with the exact timings of the different parts of the eclipse. You can find more information about the eclipse at TimeandDate.com.
