Shore Leave 32

This is a science fiction convention that I’ve been trying to get to for about three years. I think this is the year I’m actually going to make it. If you’re a Battlestar Galactica fan, the guests this year are going to make you delirious.

We’re less than two months away from Shore Leave 32, so here’s a reminder that pre-registration for Shore Leave 32 should be postmarked by June 15, 2010 to be accepted at the weekend rate of $80.00 for adults and $20.00 for children ages 5-12.  After that, memberships will be sold at the door. Cancellations will be honored until July 1, 2010.  We cannot guarantee any refunds after that date.

Hunt Valley Inn Waiting List

If you have been hoping to stay at the Hunt Valley Inn for Shore Leave this year, we encourage you to call the hotel to ask to have your name placed on the waiting list.   DO NOT cancel your other reservations before getting a confirmation from Hunt Valley, and be aware of any cancellation restrictions at any hotel where you may already have reservations.  Let us know if you have any problems (like being told that there isn’t a waiting list–there is!).  Good Luck!

Shore Leave 31 will offer a variety of interesting workshops. Please check back for more information.

1) New for this year, the Shore Leave Masquerade has been expanded to include Steampunk and Anime categories. Visit the Masquerade Categories page for more information.
2) July 11 is Kilt Day at Shore Leave. Why? Why not?<
3)  Annual All-Kinds-of-Writing Workshop with Howard Weinstein, Bob Greenberger, Bob Jones & Dave Galanter

Our writing workshop team has many decades of professional writing experience between them! They’ll be sharing the fruits and frustrations of all that jazz with all interested writers at their 2-hour workshop on Saturday. Since the basics of good writing and story-telling apply to many formats, the workshop will cover TV/movie scripts, novels, short stories, comics — and even non-fiction, too. No matter what your age or experience, if you want to be a writer — or want to be a better writer — here’s a chance to ask questions and chat about the craft and business of writing for fun and profit! (The workshop is free.)

If you have any questions about the convention, please email information@shore-leave.com.
